Nakon što je završio sa Bauhausom, Peter Murphy je napravio solidnu solo karijeru. “Deep” je treći solo studijski album ovog engleskog muzičara. Producirao ga je Simon Rogers, a album je objavljen na današnji dan – 19. decembra 1989. preko Beggars Banquet Records u Velikoj Britaniji i RCA/Atlantic Records u SAD-u. Album sadrži doprinose Murphyjevog pratećeg benda, The Hundred Men. Album je iznjedrio tri singla: “The Line Between the Devil’s Teeth (And That Which Cannot Be Repeat)”, “Cuts You Up” i “A Strange Kind of Love”. Pjesma „Cuts You Up” je najistaknutija od njih.
