Ako se dogodi velika dodjela nagrada, ali se ne prenosi na televiziji ili uživo, nema zvijezda i malo ljudi uopšte zna za događaj – je li se to zaista desilo? Zlatni globus 2022. barem je u nedjelju odgovorio na to pitanje. Hollywood Foreign Press Association priredilla je ovu čudnu verziju dodjele nagrada u Los Angelesu. Ove godine dodjela Zlatnih globusa se odvijala iza zatvorenih vrata, bez ijednog poznatog lica ili novinara koji su pozvani nakon što je NBC prekinuo emitovanje emisije u maju. Sa nekoliko svjedoka na terenu, službeni @goldenglobes Twitter račun otkrio je pobjednike u stvarnom vremenu. Odluka NBC-a došla je usred povratka HFPA-e nakon izvještaja Los Angeles Timesa da glasačko tijelo od 87 osoba nije imalo tamnoputih članova i da je dopuštalo upitne etičke prakse.
Bilo kako bilo, ostaće zabilježeno da je dodjela sprovedena, a najveći dobitnici Jane Campion sa “The Power of the Dog”, Steven Spielberg sa rimejkom “West Side Story” i serija “Succesion”.
